Silver Spring MD retired Association Executive; former U. S. House of Rep. press secretary to 4 Democrats. Married 2
Hey! I thank the great alums who put together this reunion website for us.  I graduated in '72 from U of Md with a journalism degree; married Michael Robinson same year; received my Master's in '75 Speech/political communications.  Had a short internship at the Democratic National Hdqtrs right after Watergate breakin, and moved on to the US House of Representatives for my dream job, Congressional Press Secretary.  Spent 9 years on Capitol Hill with 4 Democratic Members of the House, including the now US Senator Barbara Boxer. Later, headed up a member benefits subsidiary of the National Assn of Social Workers, and 'retired' early in 2004.  We have two sons, Dan (29) a software engineer at US Naval Research Lab, and Scott (25) a musician in the band "Hotspur", a music teacher and recording engineer.  Mike is a senior engineer at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.  We enjoy as much time as we can get in our Hilton Head Island SC vacation rental home and the golfing and beach activities there.  Work and pleasure trips have taken me to many fascinating and wonderful destinations all over the US, to mainland China, the UK, Europe and Hungary.

I am so looking forward to seeing alums on Sat evening, June 28th!

New York New York Psychotherapist / Psychoanalyst
I have been living in New York City for about 35 years. I graduated American University in DC with a BA in 1972. I moved to New York to go to New York University for graduate school and received my Masters Degree in 1975. In 1985 I began post graduate training in Psychoanalysis (IPTAR) and completed that training in 1993. I also have training in Parent-Infant Psychotherapy. I have been in private practice since 1986, working with adults in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, with adolescents in psychotherapy as well as parent - infant/toddler psychotherapy.

I began my career in 1975 working with adolescents. :-)  Particularly rewarding is my work with high risk mothers and infants who are in a residential treatment program for substance abuse. I am most fortunate to receive funding from two foundations for this work.

How did all this happen? - it must have been all those hours I spend in the counseling office with Mrs. Allen, filing and stuffing envelopes, after I was "asked to leave class" for disruptive behavior or by choice when I could not "bear" to be in a particular class. I must have caught this "counseling thing" by "osmosis". I also teach and write professional papers. Who would have ever thought I would be able to write a paper. Certainly not our beloved Miss Tegu.

I enjoy theater, movies and dance performances, as well as cooking, biking (as in bicycle), swimming and skiing. And yes, I have continued to dance ( jammin' in the language of 1968). I passed through the disco and club scene and have "aged" into the world of ballroom dancing - salsa and swing including west coast swing. I'm sure I'll make the transition soon to the foxtrot ! I've mostly kept up with my jazz and tap dance classes. Which brings me to, I am so glad that many of my jammin' buddies will be at the reunion. But wondering about you, Billy Earman - you gonna be there? Looking forward to seeing everyone. It will be a lot of fun.

Rockville MD Engineer Married
I am still right here in the area living near White Flint Mall; just far enough so my wife does not go there every night, but close enough so we can walk.  Still taking lots of black and white photos and I will bring some to the dinner.  Still traveling the world as a Navy civilian engineer.  I could retire, but why would I want to?  For example, just getting ready to go "work" in Hawaii for a while.  Meanwhile, making 10-mile mountain hikes with the Capital Hiking Club each Saturday and still out in my same canoe fishing (see photo). Avon Lake OH Retired Pre-school Teacher Married 3
After graduation from high school I went to college in Nebraska.  After moving around the country for a while and being in several states, I ended up in Avon Lake, Ohio.  Our town is on Lake Erie about 25 miles west of Cleveland.  We enjoy beautiful sunsets in the summer and cold, windy weather in the winter.
I am married to a wonderful husband named John.  We have 3 children and one grandchild.  We are both retired and enjoy traveling both inside and outside the country.
I enjoy gardening, exercise, church activities, and love being with my family and spoiling our granddaughter.
It will be great to see everyone.  I am sure we all have changed over the years.  It was difficult to recognize some of the classmates at the 20th reunion and now here it is time for the 40th reunion!  It will be a time for reacquainting and I am very much looking forward to this reunion.

New Market AL Aerospace Married 3

Hey!
I have been in contact with a few of you since Richardson put up this website and great to reunite.  Looking forward to the short time together.  Lots of blessings in my life and sounds like for many of you as well.  I was married in 1971 to a Connecticut girl and we had two great kids, Jason (34) and Kim (31) who just made my a grandpa for the first time.   Through my own selfishness, I divorced Kathie in 1990.  In 1993 I married Shari and in 1999 Kacie (9) was born.  Another undeserved blessing!   After college I worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT.  Then in 1982 for Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin) in Orlando.  In 2004, Northrop Grumman (the old Westinghouse) hired me.  over the years in aerospace,  I've bumped into Joe Harland, Walt Havenstein, and Larry Carmichael.  In 1990 I started the first public high school lacrosse team in Florida. I started 7 more and formed an organization to grwo and spread HS lacrosse.  I coached HS lacrosse for 10 years.  Today there are 75 boys teams and 77 girls teams and this year it was declared a Florida HS sport with a State Championship.  Lot of fun.  We now live in Crownsville, very near Annapolis.  My interests are my wife, my kids, my church, youth group, mission work, and lacrosse (still playin' altho the team name is "The Geezers")  We plan on headin' to northern Alabama in a year.  My folks are there already, my sister, and Shari's mom.  Tryin' to stop the geographical spread we all became victim to after we left for college.  Look forward to seeing you all soon!   Shrummer

Foster City California Early childhood educator Married 3
I graduated from Cornell's college of Architecture, finally, in 1974. I took time off after junior year, got married to a Navy pilot, and returned to finish while he was on cruises, including Viet Nam in early '72. We have 3 grown children: 2 men also in the Navy, Navy SEAL and Naval Aviator. Our daughter is married to an entrepreneur and has our granddaughter, now 1 year old, and lives an hour away.
I practiced architecture everywhere we lived in the Navy until it got too hard to move so much. I fell into a teaching job at a Catholic school and found my true calling. When George retired from the Navy in '89 we moved to the Bay area where he is a test pilot for UAL. I joined an educational publishing firm for 10 years. After many consolidations, I left in 2000 and focused on early childhood education. Now that I have fibromyalgia, it is tough to work with the little people, but I manage, they are our future!
