Corky moved to OK following the end of his army service to be near his parents; they moved from Fausett Road to Potomac to Tulsa Oklahoma in 1967.
Corky was working, while in college, as a night manager at a pizza store that was held up. The gunman shot him 6-7 times in the back. (Both he and his co-worker/roommmate were forced by the robber to lay on their stomachs during the robbery. The roommate also died.)
