Bethesda MD Hospital Chaplain Married 2

My life’s been like a patchwork quilt:  a formative trip in Spring ’72 with fellow students at the College of Wooster to four religious communities in Europe… staying on to live 11 years alongside the ecumenical Community of Taize in Burgundy, France, participating in their work with young people…  sharing life with a Roman Catholic community of sisters nearby (while still remaining a Protestant!)…  returning to the DC area…  thinking that I had lost any chance for romance – until I was “surprised by joy” by LeRoy, a widower with two young children…  10 lively years as we raised our boys…  an opportunity to pursue further education during three wonderful years at Wesley Seminary…  a serendipitous discovery of hospital chaplaincy as a place to do challenging but fulfilling work.  And in case you’re wondering -  I still play the flute!

Annapolis Maryland Juvenile Services Resource Specialist weisiger@djs.state.md.us Widowed 2

Thanks for letting this Whitman Viking runs with the Bulldogs.  I ve been in touch with so many old friends in the past few weeks and it all started with Rob's blog.  Grace Janelle tracked me down at work and here I am.
The 60's were the best time to come of age. It was such an optimistic time and we really felt we had an opportunity to create a better world. We were able to set up the Bethesda Free Clinic in the early 70's which still operates today.
Spent 72-73 living out of a sleeping bag while traveling around the US and vagabonding through Europe . Ended up living in Aix-en-Provence and Agra, India (great view of the Taj Mahal from my roof).  Along the way I finished a degree in mental health and moved from Santa Fe to Annapolis where I finally settled down.
Over the past 39 years I've worked with emotionally disturbed, drug involved and delinquent youth in residential treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals and group homes.  I took the first call for the Montgomery County Hotline, worked in their drop-in ctrs and participated in the contacts teams that went out 24 hrs a day to deal with "bad trips, suicides and psychiatric emergencies.( couldn't let all that adolescent angst experience go to waste).
The last 28 years I've worked with Maryland DJS overseeing clinical services, placements and budget for Anne Arundel, PG and Tri-County.  We've gone from dealling with kids who had a couple of beers and "borrowed" a car to a society destroyed by drugs and impulsive kids with guns that have left me dealing with 7 kids age 12 to 15 charged with murder in the past year.
I fell hard for a guy from Finland, Kaarle Koivula, that worked with me and together we built a house on 1 1/2 acres on the South River in Annapolis and had two kids, my talented son, Mikael, 21, who works at the Naval Academy and my beautiful daughter Elisabeth, 19, who just returned from snorkling with sharks and sky diving in Australia and Fiji and leaves for London and Paris the day after the reunion.  History repeats its' self.
Three weeks after our 24th aniversary Kaarle died of heart disease after three months and 4 operations.  He'd been suffering from Parkinsons since '89 so in a way it was a blessing, but the past three years have been a challenge.

I plan to retire in three years  to read on my dock, crab and kayak but continue to volunteer with kids. Now that my teenagers are grown I find myself curled up with the dogs every night content and happily suprised with how nicely life turned out.

I grew up at the corner of Falls Road & Victory Lane so I went to W. Rockville Elem., Julius West Jr. High then Churchill with many of you. I moved to Annapolis after 11th grade so you will find me in the '66 but not '67 yearbook. I graduated from Miami U. (Ohio) with a degree in psychology and stayed for a masters degree in Personnel. I had a career in the Federal service, mostly with the National Science Foundation where I ran an office that hired executives & scientists. I retired a few years ago and moved back to Annapolis.  I am rebuilding my Mom's house while she is in assisted living, and we both plan to move back in in spring 2018.

La Plata MD Retired/writing children's books Married 1
After graduating, I attended the University of Maryland.  I married in 1973 to a teacher of history who later became a principal of one of the local middle schools. We had one child, Kelly, who is my pride and joy. She is 28 years old and resides in Rockville, MD.  She is a graduate of Mary Washington and obtained her Masters degree at the University of MD.  She is presently a senior consultant with Kaiser Permanente.

I divorced in 1997 and remarried in 2005 (yes, I'm still a newlywed) to Monk Winkler who's retired and loves to play golf!  We're living life to it's fullest!

I am presently retired after 15 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Charles County, MD.  I worked in the legal field at the Charles County Circuit Court handling child support, custody, visitation and domestic violence.

Since my retirement I have developed a passion for writing children's books and have just published my first book "The Creepy Tree".  I self published through AuthorHouse.  It has 10 beautifully illustrated and colorful pages for the children.  This tree, in this endearing story, is based on a real, uncanny old tree growing in the front yard of my husband's daughter's home.  A routine evening, windy night and full moon set the stage for this heart warming tale.  The two young characters, Braeden and Lexi, are preparing for bedtime and unaware that their routine evening is about to evolve into an amazing adventure.  They are taken on an  journey by a magical tree beyond their wildest imaginations.  There are a couple of twists in this story to delight young readers.

The book is for sale at AuthorHouse.com, Barnes and Noble.com. and Amazon. com.  I have had one book signing thus far and four other lined up!  It has been well received by children and adults!

I love traveling, reading, shopping, arts & crafts and spending time with family and friends.  I had a marvelous time at the reunion and enjoyed seeing all of the alumni.  I am looking forward to any future reunions.

Sparta NJ Finance/Sales Married 1
After leaving Churchill I spent a very unproductive year at U of M then transferred to a college in Ohio where I earned an even less productive degreee in Sociology.  Luckily I developed some strong sales and management skills that have kept food on the table over the years.
After college I returned to Potomac and worked as a branch manager for Potomac National Bank.  I then bought the old SPORTSMEN bar on Wisconsin Avenue and renamed it the KIWI Pub.  Bob R. helped me out as bartender and Phil J. was on the construction crew.
In the late 70's I moved to Southern California and started my sales career with sales leadership roles at  AT&T, Lucent and now with HP.
In 1995  AT&T moved my wife, Barb, daughter, Hilary, and me to NW New Jersey and then we were based in London England for 2 years.
Today Barb and I split time between our home on Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia and our home in New Jersey.
We make quarterly trips back to Orange County, California to see our handsome, smart and talented new gransdon, Luke.
Over the last 40 years, I have had the great fortune to stay close with the "Float Trip Boys" and Phil J.
Look forward to seeing you all at the reunion.

Greencastle Retired Real Estate Appraiser wiseappraisals.com Married 3
Geez, 40 years already.  Went into the Air Force out of h.s., ended up in Little Rock, AR., spent several years there, married there, had first kid there, back up to this area, but came back up here to help Dad with real estate; got my knowledge at the junior college; became an appraiser, and have been doing it for the past 32 years, with my own business working in four states.  Remarried over 5 years ago; have three kids, and six grandkids.  Travelled all over Europe, either with the Air Force or via cruise ship, looking forward to retirement by the water in Tennessee in about 3-4 years.
